May 2022. TerraUSD — an algorithmic “stablecoin” worth ~$18B — unwound from $1.00 to near-zero in about 72 hours, dragging LUNA and roughly $40B of value down with it.
The crash itself wasn't the scary part. The lag was. By the time the depeg was obvious on every timeline, the exit was already gone. I didn't have a single place that just told me, at a glance, which dollars were still worth a dollar.
So I built one. Depeg Detector watches the most-held USD stablecoins against their peg in real time and surfaces the one number that matters: how far each is from $1.00, right now. Quiet when everything holds, loud the moment something slips.
